Set up your phone system
Go from a new account to answering calls in six steps.
Most shops finish this in about 15 minutes. You need your shop's address and an idea of what you want callers to hear.
Create your account and your first location
RetailPhone is invitation-only at the moment. Your invitation email contains a six-character code. Enter it on the sign-up page, along with your name, email and a password, and accept the terms of service and privacy policy.
After you sign up you'll be asked for your business name, then your first location's name and address, then your plan, and finally the voice you want callers to hear. A location is one shop. If you have more than one, you can add the others later.
Get a phone number
Go to Numbers and select + Add numbers to pick a new local number. Already have a number your customers know? You can move it to RetailPhone and keep it.
Add a line
A line is a phone that rings. Go to Lines & Devices, select + Add line, and name it after where the phone sits, such as "Front counter".
Connect a phone
On Pro and Scale, add a supported Grandstream phone under Devices and it sets itself up. On any plan you can connect a desk phone or a phone app by hand using the sign-in details on the line.
Write what callers hear
Go to Phrases and type your greeting, your hours and anything else callers ask about. RetailPhone turns each one into natural-sounding speech.
Build your menu and point your number at it
Go to Menus, select + Add menu, choose your greeting, and decide what each key does. Then open Numbers and set your number to route to the menu.
Check your work
Open Overview to see the whole path a call takes, from your number through your menu to your phone. Then call your number from a mobile phone and try each option.
Changes take a moment to reach the phone system. Wait for All changes live in the sidebar before you test. See When your changes go live.
